Kalon Women Celebrates Women’s History Month – “Tell Us Your Story”

On February 5, 2009 we posted a message on all of the social media’s that Kalon Women belongs to – which is a majority of them – including our own Kalon Communities.

The message was simple:

March is Women’s History month and I would like to fill our March issue with your story – the good – the bad – the wonderful – the sad – what you do for a living – what your passion is or how you are discovering your passion – how you’re struggling to find your way through – how you made it to this stage of your life.

Kalon Women wants to hear YOUR story!

Those that responded were emailed a list of fourteen questions which evoked some very intimate responses. Their answers were overwhelming and beautiful…and I want to personally thank them for opening their souls and hearts to us.

Submissions poured in from all over the globe as women began to share their stories.

At times, editing can be a tedious, mind numbing process after perusing over numerous submissions on a monthly basis.  And, as the editor, you often find yourself “disconnecting” with the story/article so that you can meet that month’s publication deadline.

After all the editing is complete, I then take time to go back and read through each one of these creative, passionate, educational and thought provoking pieces that you, our Kalon Authors submit each month.

Not so this time; I began my normal routine of “disconnecting” with the story to get the job done on time but found myself unable to do that for this issue.  I realized as I started the process, that these women were sharing their very personal journeys with Kalon Women and they deserved my complete attention – now.

Little did I know that this would take me through a personal journey of my own as I read through each one – savoring each word and every emotion shared by these strong, courageous and talented women.

I cried, laughed out loud, smiled and sometimes grimaced to myself as I recognized pieces from my own life in their stories.

With a heart filled with respect, and a kindred sisterly love, Kalon Women invites you to take a moment – turn off your cell phones – close your email and any other distractions and read through each amazing story under the category Women’s History Month “Tell Us Your Story”.

We would love to hear your feedback on this issue – so click here and tell us how their stories affected, benefitted, connected with and touched you…

Kalon Women would love to have your feedback on any and all of our articles, poetry and stories – or – tell us how we’re doing – what you would like to read about – we’re listening!
